jugga --

The lead singer on "Amie" was Craig Fuller, the song's composer and
usually Pure Prairie League's lead vocalist in 1972, when the song
appeared on the album "Bustin' Out." "Amie" became a big hit three
years after it was recorded (!) and is available on many "classic
rock" and country compilations.

There are lots of online sources for this information, and I will
provide links to a few of them, as well as a Google search strategy
for your convenience in finding more information about the band, the
song and the composer.

First, here are some sources for the answer to your question:

From a 1999 story in the Cincinnati Enquirer:

"Craig Fuller, who wrote and sang the 1975 hit ?Amie,? a mainstay of
oldies radio, is back with the band."

And this, from Country Music Television:

"In late 1974, Pure Prairie League's touring began to pay off as radio
stations started playing "Amie," a song from Bustin' Out, leading RCA
to issue the song as a single, reissue the album, and re-sign the
band. Bustin' Out entered the charts in February 1975, nearly two and
a half years after its release, and rose into the Top 40, eventually
going gold. "Amie" charted in March 1975 and became a Top 40 hit. Of
course, the song had been written and sung by Fuller, who was no
longer in the band. (He would resurface in 1976 in the band American
Flyer.)"

Finally, this from InSound:

"'Amie,' their first Top 40 entry, sung by Craig Fuller, kicks off
this album and represents the early stages of the band's career with
its light, breezy sound."

Search Strategy:

I first found the information with this general Google search, after
learning that the song was written by Craig Fuller:

amie craig fuller
://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=amie+craig+fuller

This search led me to the information that Fuller was the lead
vocalist, and I then performed several other Google searches to
confirm that the information was accurate and complete (it was).
Here's one of them;

amie craig fuller lead
://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=amie+craig+fuller+lead

I am confident that this is the information you are seeking. If
anything is unclear, please ask for clarification before rating this
answer.
