Hello sophieddie-ga

Can you please clarify your question a little for me?

Do you need to know an exact number of countries that use postal
codes? Most developed countries use a (different) postal code system
as it speeds up the delivery of mail. I can provide you a list of
approximately 50 countries that use postcodes (and links to sites that
will help you further). Would this be sufficient for an answer?

Thanks for your reply. What I am looking for is the total number of
postal codes (or equivalents) in use worldwide, rather than the number
of countries that use them.

Just in the US there are about 80,000+ zip codes. If you include
zip+4 the number grows to billions.
