Where can I find a valid chemical equation for the conversion of
codeine to morphine in the body?

Only about 10% of codeine is converted to morphine (by the P450 CYP2D6
liver enzyme). This happens by the methoxy group at carbon 3 being
converted to a hyrdoxy group.
