We could do with altering the worklog program so that users have to
log in with a user and pass before entering a log entry. At the admin
backend, we need to option to set passwords for users.

I know i said this wasn't required but it looks like i was wrong!

Please clarify before answering.

Here is the list of tasks I think I must do:
  -Protect all the options using login/password
  -All registered users will be able to add entries
  -Only the superuser will be able to manage the tool
  -The super user will be able to manager user passwords, in this
case, staff passwords
  -The work entry will take the user from the current logged user,
instead show a drop down list

Just tell me if this list is ok and I will start asap.

To allow login all your existing users, you must edit their accounts
and set a password.
