Question ID: 381307
I would like a list of features that RemotelyAnywhere includes that
are not available in DameWare. In addition to features, how does the
security compare? I'm trying to justify a purchase of
RemotelyAnywhere to my boss and don't want a canned sales answer from
the sales guy. Please include at least 10 features that appear in
RemotelyAnywhere that are not available in DameWare.

Hopefully the researcher has already used both products. If not, the
products can be downloaded at the links below:

Hello -

When you say Dameware, are you speaking of "DameWare NT Utilities" or
just the Mini Remote product?

I am speaking of Dameware NT Utilities. After speaking with my
co-workers we would like the analysis to lean towards the security
aspects of both Dameware and RemotelyAnywhere. It seems many of the
fetaures are the same, but the main differnce is security.

If you are able; a more thurough comparison on the security features
of both would be ideal (more than a feature comparison).

Interested?

Thanks for the input. I understand what you are saying with regards to
going with what I desire as far as features etc... I have tested both
RemotelyAnywhere and Dameware and I prefer ra, however my boss has
asked for outside evidence supporting my conslusions as I am not a
tech person. The reason for the similarities bewteen 268512 and my
entry is because I copied and pasted that question to save time - I
figured they got an answer so maybe their words would do well for me.

Bottom line is that I really need some help in supporting my decision,
or conversley on proving myself wrong.

I just wanted to point to this
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=268512 answer, which
has absolutely nothing to do with this question, except for the
comment about reviews on
products(http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,225861,00.asp), which is
old and doesn't contain Dameware.

One of the things I noticed about the 268512 answer was the entries
about remote service management. I use http://www.gfi.com/lannetscan
to enumerate the equipment I have on my network, and use compmgmt.msc
to manage services on PC's remotely. Since that is such a big deal
with these products, I just wanted to indicate that it is possible to
do many things with what's already included in the box to manage
computers remotely.

OK, I know that you want to pay a lot for the review of the product
comparison, and maybe someone will take you up on the offer. But,
consider this: regardless of the featureset and security differences
of the two products, it still comes down to what you want to use and
how much you want to purchase. Added features aren't worth anything if
you don't use them. What gets me is that the result of this question
is essentially an advertisement for one product over the other, which
I would *guess* is a violation of the intentions of the terms of
