Hello webafrica~

The answer depends upon the breath mint. Gelatin is made from horses'
hooves, so if the mint has any gelatan products in it, the answer is
"yes."

(See "Dietary Influences on Teens" by VegRD:
http://www.answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=381461#a )

You can consult the list of ingredients on any given breath mint to
see if gelatin is an ingredient, and those breath mints with a
gelatin-like soft, "gushy" center are probably most likely to contain
gelatin.

Research Strategy:

"made from horses' hooves"
"breath mints" "Made from"

Thanks - btw the link you pasted points to THIS thread :). Also
probably harder to find out would be "in general" do breath mints use
gelatin and hence "come from horses"

I believe there are many other animal sources of gelatin other than
horse hooves, but perhaps the horse hoves gelatin is favored for
breath mints, if not for Jello. Neil
