I have a Daewoo DP-42SP Plasma screen. It has just past its warrantee
and recently when turning it on there was a quiet pop from the lower
left of the screen (Where the power supply is located) and the screen
no longer works.

When turning on the screen now the red light on the front lights up
but when pressing the 'input select' the screen does not turn on as it
usually would.

I suspect the power supply needs replacing but I suppose it could be anything.

I have contacted Daewoo but because it is just out of warrantee they
can only refer me to a third party company to repair the screen.

The referred company only do repairs by delivery and due to the size
and weight of the plasma screen they quoted me over £150 just to have
it collected with no guarantee how much the repairs could cost.

I would like you to find a repair company that will service the screen
& do house calls to prevent the need for shipping of the screen.

Ideally a local one.. (I live in Walsall in the West Midlands, UK)

Please provide a list of acceptable contacts and if possible estimated
quotes for repair.

Could you also do a search to see if anyone has had similar problems
with the Daewoo line of plasma screens.

Cheers, Pete.
