I have a painting of a young women holding a basket of fruit. It appears to be an oil painting on canvas stretched over wood stretcher bars. At the bottom of the painting it is signed Maviaffi or Moviaffi 1760. Please send me information about the painting and artist? |

Hi, thekid, I think you're looking for Carlo Spiridione Mariotti, perugian painter of the 1700's. These are some pages about him: http://portal.comune.perugia.it/perugia/Luoghi.asp?idc=29&idp=1&idt=4 http://www.swif.uniba.it/lei/storiasc/diffusione/recensioni/ripa.pdf http://www.newcom.pr.it/filosofia/ripa.htm http://search.sothebys.com/jsps/live/lot/LotDetail.jsp?lot_id=YMFH |
