This site has a list of the English prisons where hangings took place: 1932 - 1964. It is also listed by each year. I do not know how reliable the information is. http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/6142/hanged2.html http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/6142/contents.html answerfinder-ga |

Hi, Everyone This is OUTSIDE the scope of the question but I believe that there were also a number of executions by firing squad during the war years. I don't know how many or where they were carried out. Bryan |

A former prison officer told me that Cardiff (Wales) was also used for executions. He claimed that there was still a gallows somewhere on site. |

Now the Links are working for me. That is one great site. Thanks for a great question. And how about that amber00? A Welsh venue, no less. I bet they only strung up folks who couldn't sing. |
