A lot of people in your answer are government not commercial.Only one
[as far as I know] produces IVF embryos .The others all extract and
implant natural embryos. Please search and identify IVF technicians.

There is no easy answer to my question.Yiu will probably have to visit
particular sites to find out if they do IVF work and whether it is
cattle as against human sheep etc.yours Hartog-ga

Hi hartog,
Perhaps I have misunderstood your question - please let me know if AAG
and Brecon (both on my list above) are suitable.
Australian Animal Genetics:
"AAG provides a full range of services in cattle embryo transfer.
These include embryo collection and transfer, embryo freezing using
either conventional or quick thaw freezing protocols."
Please direct inquiries to our office at:
Telephone: (03) 5977-1770

http://www.aagenetics.com.au/et_c_c.htm
Brecon Breeders:
"embryo transfer, splitting, freezing and storage"

Yes, I was aware of the need for people who service cattle, which is
why I listed only the people who serviced cattle in my answer. I do
have experience with artificial insemination in cows so I'm not coming
at this from square one. In your original question, you asked for
someone who "will extract ivf embryos from my cows". In your
clarification, you say only one "produces IVF embryos .The others all
extract and implant natural embryos". I guess that is where my
misunderstanding comes in - harvesting IVF embryos and natural embryos
require different technicians or can one technician do both? If your
cows have had IVF, wouldn't the same people come and harvest them?
Have you asked your vet for a list of technicians?
I'll do my best to find you what you need and get back to you as soon
as possible one way or the other (hopefully Monday), in the meantime,
I'll look forward to your clarification.

Hi hartog,
I've been looking at the list I provided (Accredited Embryo Transfer
Teams) and I'm not sure why you think they are government services -
they appear to be commercial businesses to me. Also, if you look at
the following link, you'll see that they all work with cattle.

6) Total Livestock Genetics:

collection centre that did not market its own genetics and provided
the only independent service to allow companies and individuals to do
so."
Embryo Transfer & In-Vitro Fertilisation
"Since 1989 TLG has offered on farm and on centre embryo transfer
programmes. With three full time embryo technicians, both large and
small scale projects can be carried out efficiently and quickly, right
across the country."

question, it will help me in my search. I'll look forward to hearing
from you.

hi hummer, embryo transfer [E.T.] happens on farm. The donor cows are
given a follicle stimulating hormone[F.H.S.]for 4 days.They are then
inseminated and a week later flushed.I.E.By that time the fertilised
eggs have descended into the womb and are washed out by the vet and
the embryos are implated into surrogate mothers.IVF happens in a
collection centre.Every 2 or 3 days a probe is pushed through the cows
hide and onto the cows ovary .Suitable eggs are sucked out fertilised
in a test tube in a laboratory and nourished until about a week old.It
is very skilled and few people do it.I phoned 12 AAG and 13 RAB they
have no facilities for IVF and do not do it.I know of most others on
your list they do every thing connected to ET but not IVF.6 Ashworth
does IVF but is not satisfactory for me.Thanks for your efforts so far
Please keep trying yours Hartog

Hi hartog,
Your original question asked for someone who "will extract ivf embryos
from my cows", but what you really need is an IVF Collection Centre,
correct?
Have you called TLG? I think they meet all of your requirements (the
photo on the Contact page has them working on what looks like
Holsteins).
Total Livestock Genetics: embryo collection centre

Perhaps Mike would be a good person to call for leads.
"Mike is a specialist in Embryo Transfer and In-Vitro Fertilisation of cattle."
http://www.miniatureherefords.com.au/onfarm/CattleServices.htm
If TLG isn't suitable, please let me know why.
Thanks, hummer

Dear hartog,
I was surprised to see that you closed your question, given that it
hasn't really been answered yet. I guess you are right, I do not
understand why a place like TLG which "was one of the first *centres
offering IVF services*... TLG has proven to be leader in advanced
breeding technologies offering IVF..." isn't suitable. At the very
least, you should be able to call them and ask where you can go.
Likewise, "Mike", who is a specialist in "In-Vitro Fertilisation of
cattle" should be able to tell you where to go for the service.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to find exactly what you are looking for and I
appreciate your thoughtfulness in wanting to pay me none-the-less. I
did email one of the centres and I'll let you know when (if) I receive
a reply.
Thank you and good luck with your *IVF*.
Sincerely,
hummer
