My very new Norton AntiVirus has been unable to run a complete scan
for several weeks. After several pop ups warning about a virus
threat, my subsequent scans always hang up at
"C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WINS". Any idea what's wrong and how to fix it?

Hi stevemccnj,

Please run the following free programs:

HouseCall (a very thorough online virus scan):
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Ad-aware ("check for updates" before running):
http://www.spychecker.com/program/adaware.html

Sybot Search and Destroy ("check for updates" before running):
http://www.safer-networking.org/

With luck, that will solve it, but it's more than likely that it's
just a place to start - please let me know how it goes.
