Hi,
This question would suit someone who understands the distinction between:
1. knowing about buisness via book and info learning
and
2. Understanding business from having been in business

I am a business coach looking for practical resources to assit my
business at home clients with non-web related skills (read: general
business skills)

I want a list of the Top 10 sites in each of Australia, USA, UK, and
India that offer practical ways to learn better business
skills.(Planning. Marketing, Sales, Admin, Customer Focus, Cashflow
Management, Work flow management, Growing a business, Negotiating,
Developing products....) AND appreciate or include how to Balance a
familylife / household when one of the "kids" that demands alot of
attention is a business.

The types of home based businesses (HBB) include:
Those operated ON-SITE from home (meet clients do work, make stuff
etc< eg: Graphic Designer; architects; patchwork quilting service)

Those that are OFF SITE and use the home as a base( do paperwork at
home but conduct business away from home: tradespeople; training
consultants; mobile dog washing etc)

And others that are VIRTUAL HBB:
eg: mail order, online marketing businesses.

The sites I have found thru search engines like google are of two types:
*Content Laden...all data and not practical
*Sales of Products...ebooks that are all data and e-marketing / use
your computer to make money at home blah blah blah

These are OK for general business infomation and specific approaches
(like marketing online). BUT.....I am looking for sites that someone
with little business skill can use to practically develop their
skills, NOT an info dump.

An example of a "dump" can be found at:
http://www.homebusinessmanual.com.au
Looks good...but who is really going to read it?? It's old (2001),
repetitive and slabs of text.People I know who have looked at this
have resented the fact that it is boring, long and outdated...and WILL
NEVER GO BACK TO THIS SITE or the Govt agency that set it up.

The aproach I'm after is like this:
http://www.selfcert.com/
Only this site has very long winded and exceptionally complex (and
outdated) elearn(?) modules. And it is NOT for general business skills
in that it has an IT focus.

Things that could be helpful include:
Mini tutorials
check lists
little presentations
audio files that get people doing things
step-by-step how to's

They could be commercial sites or Free info sites it doesn't really
matter. Don't care about their Google rank only that the "content" is
easy to read, simple to navigate and encourages people to "do stuff"
rather that just read about it.

See how you go.
