Please help me locate the following:
- The pants (usually red or green) have boats embroidered all over
them.
- The belts are also a bright color with a simple whale or lobster
shape repeated all the way around.

I'm looking for a place I can buy them--online or in NYC

I remember that look well! I wasn’t able to find a belt or pants – the
brands I remember (Izod, Polo, LL Bean) don’t seem to be carrying
animal or boat motifs on their clothes anymore. I did peruse eBay and
found some related items:

There's a store on Third Avenue on the upper east side (between 65th
and 85th, I'd guess) that may have what you need.  I often see a
preppy look in the window, but I can't remember the name of the store
off-hand.  If I am able to check out the store in the next few days,
I'll definitely let you know.  In the mean time, if you're up for a
walk, it will only take you about 15-20 minutes to walk Third Avenue
between those streets...

think your best bet, especially if you're in NYC, is a vintage
clothing store. But perhaps another researcher can fill in the rest of
the puzzle.

The CK Bradley website (http://www.ckbradley.com/) has many $38 "belt
ribbons" pictured on their website.  None of those shown features
lobsters or whales, but they state that many other patterns are
