I have two Windows XP computers; one is a desktop PC; the other is a
Toshiba Tecra M2.
Both computers are on my home office network that is connected to the
Internet via a DSL connection.
Last week we upgraded the desktop PC from Windows 98 to Windows PC.
The laptop is also Windows XP.
Before this upgrade, both computers functioned perfectly on the
network, i.e., both were able to connect to the Internet, recognize
each other, trade information with each other, etc.
After the upgrade, both computers can still connect to the Internet as
before. However, while the desktop recognizes and is able to share
information with the laptop, the laptop can no longer recognize and
share information with the desktop.
I have been told that this problem is not uncommon, i.e. computers on
a network, running Windows XP, frequently have the problem of not
recognizing each other.
I have also been told that a fix for this problem exists. However, I
cannot find the fix online, at Microsoft, etc.
Can you direct me to this fix?
Thank you for any help you can give us,
