My grandfather was nicknamed 'Buddy' after the WW II 'Buddy System'.
I'd like to remember him with a tattoo. Was there a symbol for the

The "buddy system" is more of a concept than a formalized system. It
simply means two people being paired up and watching after one
another. Not only do soldiers do it, but little kids on a field trip
as well.
