ago - say as at 1st January 1986, no longer exist now - they have been
taken over, gone our of business or for whatever reason ceased trading

You are asking researchers to review and evaluate lists containing
hundreds of companies, compare these to prior versions of the lists,
and research the corporate history of each and every company that is
no longer on the lists.

This is a huge undertaking.

You may want to consider re-framing this question, especially at the
price level you have offered.

How many companies appeared on the FTSE 250 companies and Fortune 500
companies list as at 1st January 1986, that were not on the present
list (as at 1st August 2004)

Please advise if that clarification is ok - it's a comparison of two lists
