Hello,

I would assume you mean "How to" books on directly accessing the sub-conscious?

Or, do you want the book to be able to access YOUR sub-conscious,
through reading it?

The second of your two suggestions - the book actually accesses your
sun-conscious as you read it

Thx

Hello again,

I have been researching this question, and any source I can personally
find tells you how to access your sub-conscious. I cannot find a
source where the written material does it automatically. It's sort of
like hypnosis. You can learn how to hypnotize yourself, but reading a
book wouldn't do it for you, because of the inability to relax and
focus on the steps, you'd have to "jar" yourself out of it to keep
reading.

Have you heard of a book like this, or were you just hoping? Let me
know what you're thinking, so that I or another researcher may be able
to better help you.

I was hoping to find a book written in trance language so that when
you read it, the reader automaticallty feels relaxed, or whatever. I
do not know if any such book exists. I would be happy for information
on how to write such a book!

Thx

David

According to Jung (one of Freud's students), the language used by the
subconscious is symbolic. By symbol, he means:

"... a term, a name, or even a picture that may be familiar in daily
life, yet that possesses specific connotations in addition to its
conventional and obvious meaning" (Man and his Symbols, ed. Carl G.
Jung 1964)

As such, a book that speaks directly to the subconscious in text would
have to communicate in symbols. Well, I don't know of a book like
that. However, in many ways, tarot cards suit the bill. The cards (the
tower, the hanged man, the lovers etc) are full of symbolism, and it
could be argued that over the centuries they have been crafted (by
accident or design) to resonate strongly with the symbols used by the
subconscious.

So, in order to communicate with your subconscious, understanding the
tarot and introspection might be what is required. You might want to
buy a deck of Tarot cards and read some Jung (the reference above is a
good place to start).

I know of one book that attempts this through my own studies on
hypnosis. It is "Adventures of Anybody" by Richard Bandler. Richard
Bandler is the co-creator of NLP, aka Neuro Linguistic Programming. He
uses techniques pioneered by Milton H. Erickson MD. and others in a
fairy-tale like fable.

It is also said that Robert Anton Wilson attempts this in some of his
books, but this may just be his unconventional writing style. Works of
his vary widely in style and genre, from fiction to science. He
touches on the topic in his book entitled "Quantum Psychology" and is
suspected of using it in his other books including but not limited to
the "Cosmic Trigger" series.

If you really want to get technical, everything you read, hear, and
see is interpreted by your subconscious. Even as you read this
sentance your subconscious is close enough to understand a deeper
meaning.

Hope this provides some direction for you.
