through the UK Computers Guide, so that was my first stop in tracking
down information for you:

Sifting through the list, it was apparent to me that these were in no
particular order, and some of the listings were for small, but award
winning, retailers. Let's pull the big ones out:
UKCG calls Maplin Electronics "one of the UK's leading retailers,
distributors and online retailers of computer networking products",
and with good reason, it appears. The site is jammed to bursting with
a wide array of hardware choices, not limited to networking equipment:

Watford Electronics claims revenues of in excess of £30 million, and a
customer base of half a million. Like Maplin, they do not limit
themselves strictly to networking hardware, but do offer a large
