By it self, the term HDTV ready does not mean much. It means that you
television has an out put on the back (minimum RGB) that will allow
you to plus in a device that will work at high resolution (minimum
480p).
DirectTV has receivers that will allow you to display in high
resolution. let's be careful however, not ALL tv programs are indeed
encoded in high definition however, the decoder will "fake" a real hd
resolution by some neat tricks. Your eye will not really notice the
difference. Most show that do work in hd will brag about it. Like TSN
"HD VERSION", even then, not all programs are HD.

I strongly suggest that you get your receiver from DirectTv dirrectly.
Right now you can buy a receiver at 299$ which is similar to the one I
mentioned just over.
-Therefore you will need to buy this receiver from DirectTV (even
amazon.com has some)
-Your picture depends alot on the cable you buy. I doubt that the one
included (if they are included at all) are worth it. Buy some cable.
If your tv has a DVI input make sure to buy a dvi cable which is even
better than RGB.
I was not able to find a lot of information about your tv model
however, are you sure it is the correct model number? |
