Are you using Linksys Media Adapter?

Yes. And the LMA isn't picking up some artists and says sometimes it
can't read the folder I have .mp3 files in. That's the reason i'm
asking. Everything looks fine but I've never seen this file before.

From an online blog site...

David.Blog-city.com
"A few months ago I purchase the Linksys Media Adapter. I have
generally been pretty happy with the product and appreciate that it is
a first generation product and may have issues.

A few weeks ago I noticed it stop cataloging new photos. I believe it
uses some features in .Net to create a _msl.db file for each
directory. This file is missing from the new directories. Old photos
seem to work fine."

He goes on to explain how linksys has not responded to his request for
assistance with this similar matter.

The _msl.lock is similar to a Microsoft Office product like Word
making a temp file to lock the file from being edited by another
process while it is already open. If it stays open, perhaps the
linksys software isn't finishing the process and removing the
temporary lock.
