I believe that I have found a list that should suit your purposes
well. It was compiled by Samuel Willard Crompton and is found in his
2001 book called "100 Spiritual Leaders Who Shaped World History,"
published by Bluewood Books.
Crompton is the author of dozens of popular books on historical
subjects, including a series of books (including this one) about
people and events who changed and shaped the world in various ways.
His list of spiritual leaders is impressively comprehensive and
thoughtful (although no list on this subject could possible satisfy
everyone).
