Question ID: 38308
Latest head count. How many high schools are there in New York City,
and how students attend those high schools?
How many colleges and universities are there in New York City, and how
many students attend them in New York City including upper and lower
divisions? The total should be for all of NYC including Manhattan, and
also be presented separated as total high school population, and total
college and university population. Break out by schools if possible.
Must be from authenticated referenced sources.

Clarification of Question by nickynick2-ga on 15 Jul 2002 02:58 PDT
Clarification:

Include both public and private high schools. All full-time students
in these schools.

All public and private universities and colleges including 2 year
colleges, and the latest numbers of both graduate and undergraduate
students. All full and or part-time students, but not adult or night
education. Accredited and nonaccredited institutions. Don't break down
graduates and undergraduates. Just give me the total number of
students.

Thank you to rmg-ga for helping me to clarify this question. And thank
you to kamran-ga for suggesting that $5 was too little, so I raised it
to $10.

When you ask how many high schools there are in NYC, do you mean
public schools only, or private schools as well?

Do two-year colleges count? What about "adult education"?

Are you interested in the number of full-time students only, or
part-time students as well?

You mention "upper and lower divisions"; does this mean you want the
college population broken down into freshman/sophomore and
junior/senior? Do you want to know the number of graduate students as
well as undergraduates?

Do you want numbers only for properly accredited institutions?

I'm not a Researcher, so I'm not going to look this up. But clarifying
the question might help you get exactly the information you need, and
it might make it easier for a Researcher to break the problem down
into more manageable chunks.
Good luck.

In order for a Google Answers Researcher to answer your question, you
will need to put up more money.

A site that provides information on various high schools in NYC is:
http://www.nycenet.edu/hs_directory/default1.asp

If this doesn't help you, try searching around on this page's parent
site:
http://www.nycenet.edu/

Hopefully this will partially help you in your search.
