If you aren't 18 you can't be legally bound to any contracts... And most cell phone companies do a credit check and other such things, so if they gave you one anyway it's their own negligence. Pretty much you can do what you want with this, cancel the contract, don't pay etc. |

ok, that sounds good, but ive heard of people saying that theyre in trouble because of that, i did put my age as 18, but is that still negligence on their part? |

If you are under 18, you can't have your own credit card and thus would not be able to post a questiont to Google Answers. |

Assuming they used either a valid credit card, or their own credit card ;) forge |

If you are under 18, but represented yourself as 18 to gain something you are otherwise not entitled to, that might be deception. Why don't you just get a pay as you go? Owain |

Back in 1999 when I was 16, I signed up for a cell phone with Sprint PCS. I put down my real age, my real SSN, and everything like that. I got a cell phone with no troubles. I am sure you can do that too. I sincerely doubt much has changed since then. Just don't lie about any info, and you cannot get into trouble. If you do lie, it could technically be considered fraud/deception, although it's tough to enforce/proce. If they accept you, good. If not, then you can do pay as you go or whatever else you decide is necessary. As a whole, also, as long as you pay your bill on time and don't try to screw the cell phone company by backing out of a contract and then claiming you're not 18 yadda yadda yadda, chances are they could honestly care less. After all, you ARE paying them... |
