Question ID: 383272
I'm trying to program my home theater's universal remote to control my
television, but can not find the code I need. My television is an SVA
VR-30. It's a 30" LCD television. The home theater system I am using
is a Bose 3-2-1 GS system. Can you help?

It's the remote that came with the BOSE 3-2-1 GS system.

Let me start by saying that it looks like you have an impressive
system. I hope you're enjoying it.

It appears the SVA VR-30 is fairly new, which might partially explain
the reason for Bose not have any codes. I assume you have the user
manual, but if you don't you can get it here:
www.bose.com/pdf/customer_service/owners/og_321_2.pdf

On page 36 it explains how you can manually search for a code that
will operate the TV. This will be very time consuming, but at this
point, it might be your only option w/o buying another universal
remote.

There are many "learning" universal remotes out there that may work.
Basically, you point the remotes at each other and "teach" the new
remote the codes it may be missing. I actually found a very good
remote via Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000ALPB9/104-5711624-0123908?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance.
It can also learn from other remotes. Give something like this a try
- especially if it's this cheap!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the great info, Jason. I may have to resort to a
third-party remote. That link to the one on Amazon was a great one
seeing that it has buttons for TiVo as well. I think I'll give it a
try.

Thanks again.
