Dear bren-ga;

Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question.

To begin with, there is no better source for information about
Professor Peter Checkland and his area of study than directly from the
man himself. He may very well be eager to assist you by pointing out
where his theories differ from that of his peers. You can read more
about him and even contact him here:

??.

A number of notable systems thinkers have emerged during the 20th
century. There are significant differences in the approaches that they
have developed but they all view the issues being studied in a
systemic way. These are Gregory Bateson, Norbert Wiener, Heinz von
Foerster, Ross Ashby, Stafford Beer, Gordon Pask, Russell Ackoff, Jay
Forrester, Geoffrey Vickers, John Warfield, Humberto Maturana and
Francisco Varela just to name a few. You can read more about these men
and their theories here:

If you were going to compare two men who would you choose to compare
Peter Checkland to. You sould like you have studied him or work in the
field of system thinking i am having a hard time with this project.
Thank for your help I will review the information in the next couple
of days.

Clarification of Answer by tutuzdad-ga on 04 Aug 2004 12:04 PDT
I have not studied the concepts of system thinking myself but in my
research I found that Peter Checkland was only one of many who have
theories related to the subject ? especially in the last 100 years or
so.

I have written Professor Checkland and asked him to suggest one of his
contemporaries, past or present, with whom he most closely identifies
his work. Hopefully he will get back to me soon.

i MY WANT MORE HELP. i WILL KEEP POSTING ANSWER CLARICIATION. iF WE
GET INTO MUCH MORE i WILL GO TO THE PRICE AND INCREASE THE AMOUNT.

Clarification of Answer by tutuzdad-ga on 04 Aug 2004 20:35 PDT
Unfortunately there is no provision to allow you to increase the
amount once a question has been answered. In your question you asked
for 10-15 links to aid your in making a comparision. I provided what
you have asked for. If you review each link you will gain some insight
into each person's work and be able to develop an outline in order to
make such a comparision.

Alternatively, since you seem willing to expend at least some
additional finances toward more research (if necessary), you could,
theoretically open a new question and seek other sources from other
researchers. In the meantime I am still awaiting word from Professor
Checkland.
