What do faculties at universities generally pay guest lecturers (from
business or academic spheres) to speak at a public lecture at their
institution in N. America?  This isn't necessarily some one famous
just well regarded in their field.

$1000 to $1500 is not unusual for medical doctors with a specialty
lecturing at the Shands hospital, Jacksonville, Florida CME =
contiuing medical education lecturers.
