My family name was Thompson I'm not sure if that was the name of the
first person to own the area know as Valley Forge. But, I do know we
(my grandmother) are decendents as we received money years and years
ago in a settlement in regards to a payout from whoever purchased
Valley forge from our family. As much detail as possible would be
appreciated. If more money is needed I can do that, let me know?

Dear revkev,

I will try to find out something. But in order to do so, some
additional information could be useful for tracing family connections:

-What is your grandmothers full maiden name?
-When and where was she born?
-Anything else that might be important in this case?

Dear revkev,

I have successfully traced a connection between the family that owned
Valley Forge during the Revolutionary War and a Thompson family. Do
you know anything about your grandmother's and her husband's family,
in particular any names and dates from the side bearing the name
Thompson? Anything could prove very helpful.

My Grandmother was born Oct. 2, 1902 - Feb. 2, 1994. Her name was Sara
Lilly Thompson. Her Father's name was Frank M Thompson his father was
Charles Thompson Jr. And his Father was Charles Thompson. Who I
believe died in 1875. In Dec. of 1944 a setlement of $45.00 was paid
out to my grandmother as part of a court settlement in regards to some
of the remaining properity on woodline. I know the name Thompson is
the direct connection to the Valley forge properity. Dean & Stewart
are members of my Grandmother's Mother's side but they have nothing to
do with this ownership. This is about all I can dig up! I hope it is
enough to help you. I feel my Grandmother's decendents may have been
here since colonial days but have never been able to trace it.
My Grandfather's decidents go all the way back to the American Indian
I have never been able to trace them either. So if this works I may
have you or someone there attempt this for me as well. Thanks so much
I really apreciate it.

This proves to be a much tougher nut to crack than I thought. I found
out that Valley Forge was owned by one Col. William DeWees during the
Revolutionary War. And I also found out that one branch of the DeWees
family became Thompsons in 1871, when Anna Dewees married John Runnels
Thompson. They had five children: Daisy, Frank, Oceola, Floyd and
Lloyd.
However, those Thompsons seem not to be connected with your
grandmother's ancestors. This is really anything but easy.
I will keep on searching, but I would like to invite my colleague
Researchers to also work on this - I don't see any promising hints
yet, and maybe they have sources better than mine.

Thank you for looking into this Just in what you provided is
interesting, even if it is not about my family. I believe we All tie
together some how. I'm not quite sure how you would even go about
finding out something like that out! I do know it is possible.
Anyway keep me informed as to your progress.

My Mother just sent me a copy of the original Will. It looks as if I
have you looking into the wrong place. The properity was in
Philadelphia. At #3263 Woodland Avenue Philadelphia Pa. The properity
belonged to Charles Thompson died March 13th 1875. The breakdown of my
link is already posted. I would like to know all I could about him and
further back if possible so I may completely trace my roots. I can't
believe after all this time my parents misguided me into believing the
properity was in Valley Forge. Go figure! I do apoligize for that!!
Again thanks for all that you can do!!

I have not heard back from anyone in awhile. I tried to clarify the
question and have still not heard anything back. According to the time
frame on the site I will only have till Sept. 4th. The last
clarification should have made things much easier. Please let me know
of any updated work! Thanks

Unfortunately, I do not have good news. I did hours of research, but
all my efforts led nowhere. I really wish I could offer you something
useful, but every approach proved to be a dead end.

I am sorry I can't give you valuable information.
