Question ID: 383979
I keep getting a pop-up notice saying "Already running!" at random
points while I'm working on my computer (XP on a new PC). Holding the
mouse pointer over the taskbar item for it reveals it to be a
"system_35190" error. Any ideas what this is/how I can get rid of the cause
of it?

Hi virtualhawk,

Have you tried these (a good place to start troubleshooting your computer)?

1) HouseCall (very thorough online virus scan):
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

2) Ad-aware ("check for updates" before running):
http://www.spychecker.com/program/adaware.html

3) Spybot Search and Destroy (check for updates before running):

Please let us know how that goes -

Hi virtualhawk-ga,

Good day and thanks for your question. You apparently have
"Dialer-gen". The latest version of McAfee Anti-Virus gets rid of it.

You can also use a program called SpySweeper [[
http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/spysweeper/index.php ]] to weed out
other spyware programs from your system.

If you have any clarifications, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you for using this service and have a nice day.

With regards,
