I would like to know: Complete process of making vanilla extract (using real vanilla beans-not synthetic). Not merely a home method with a few beans, but a real commercial formula and process. Complete with equipment needed supplies and quantities of ingredients etc. I understand there are cold processes and processes that use elevated temperatures. I would like to know both processes. Thank you. |

How much vanilla extract would you like to make? 1 ton? 3 tons? 50 gallons? If you're playing the chemistry home game, grind up a bunch of beans, add everclear, water. Take a vacation. Filter. viola! vanilla extract. Wanna do it faster? instead of taking a vacation, heat the pot of stuff with a condenser to return the booze/water mix that's boiling back to the pot. filter the beans out. done. :-) Chugs, Bob |
