I'm looking for an up to date book, or book/video combo, that would
enable an elderly couple to create their own efficient and legally
valid Living Trust. They do not own a computer so no software
programs please. Also, no DVD's. The book should be simple and easy
to follow, and contain forms that they can copy and use.

Hello.

First of all, I must note that Google Answers provides general
information, not professional legal advice. Any do-it-yourself legal
product carries with it a certain amount of risk that the user will
misunderstand some aspect of it. If your friends do choose to make
their own living trust, I would strongly urge them to have their
documents reviewed by a qualified attorney in their area.

As for a book that meets your criteria, I recommend:

"Make Your Own Living Trust" by Denis Clifford (Nolo Press).

"Make Your Own Living Trust includes all the forms you need -- as
tear-outs or on CD-ROM -- to create your own trust, plus step-by-step
instructions for filling them out."

I have personally used books from Nolo Press, and I've found them to
be excellent. They are well-written and easy to understand. They are
also constantly updated. More about Nolo Press:

I notice that the Amazon link above is for the 5th edition.

Here's the link for the 6th edition (January 2004):
