What is the meaning and origin of the female name Rolayne?

I have an idea what the most likely origin of the name could be, but
"Rolayne" seems not to be a traditional form of it so it isn't
documented explicitly anywhere. However, would you accept founded
conclusions as an answer?

Scriptor

The information I have, which is family lore, is that the name is
French and the feminine of Roland. However, I did some other researc
which said it was German. What are founded conclusions? Thank you,
Greyhoundmom-ga
