how do I increase the resolution of my computer monitor?

My newly installed Windows 2000 on my new system shows only 800 x 600
pixels, and 16 colors.  How do I increase the colors available and
restore my images to normal levels -- to 200 or more colors?

I think that you must install the proper drivers for the monitor and video card.
Can you tell us which models are these two devices?

If you cannot find this info use Everest, it is a freeware that offers
an accurate system
information of low-level full hardware information.
