Question ID: 385244
I have written Queen Noor at her old address in Potomac but she has
sold that house on River Road and is now at a rented house in Mcleen,
VA. I have a charm to remember King Hussein to send her but only can
find a PO Box for her Foundation. Can anyone find her new address?
It's along the Potomac...that's all I know. Thanks for any help.

I have found the address of a home in McLean on the Potomac river that
is rumored to have been rented to Queen Noor. The information is in a
reputable magazine that is widely circulated in the Washington area.
The edition of the magazine that contains the information was
published in May 2003.

This information, of course, is course, consistent with the
preliminary information that you have, but it does not establish
conclusively that she currently resides there.

Would this information, which gives you the best (and only) lead that
I believe to be available online, be a satisfactory answer?

Yes, that would be an acceptable response. Thank you so very much.

Thanks for your clarification. Your question is a very specific one,
so my answer will get right to the point.

The house that Queen Noor is rumored to have rented is located at 1159
Crest Lane, McLean, Virginia 22101-1805. Here is what a widely
circulated magazine called Washington Life had to say in May 2003:

"Crest Lane has traditionally been McLean?s most prestigious street in
large part because Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis grew up in the
same Chain Bridge Road neighborhood at Merrywood, the house where JFK
wrote Profiles in Courage. But what makes 1159 Crest Lane so special
that the seller is asking $11.5 million? Granted the unique elliptical
house set on 2.4 acres commands beautiful views of the river from
every room. And the fact that it is rumored to have been rented by
Jordan?s Queen Noor also accounts for some of the property ?s
perceived value. Built in 1999, the multi-million dollar home is
described as having ?understated elegance,? not unlike Noor herself.
The seller, listed as Margaret Skallrup, Trustee, originally placed
the home on the market with an asking price of $15 million.
Consequently, interested buyers may hold out some hope that the price
will fall yet again."
Washington Life: Real Estate (May 2003) (about 5/6 down the page)

As I noted in my clarification request, this information does not
guarantee that Queen Noor continues to rent the property. However, I
have checked a Washington Post online database of real estate
ownership ownership information, and the current owner of the property
is still listed as Margaret Skallrup, Trustee. Although there is a
time lag between sale of a property and the updating of the official
records, this is some evidence that the property has not yet been
sold.

Search Strategy:

I live in the Washington area and am familiar with the fact that
McLean, VA has a neighborhood of luxury homes on the Potomac River
that are located on Chain Bridge Road and small side streets branching
off of it.

I found the site with the information you are seeking with a Google
search using the following terms:

noor "chain bridge road"

I then conducted other Google searches that provided no other useful
information and gave me confidence both that this information is not
contradicted elsewhere and that no more definitive information is
available online.

Based on your clarification, I am confident that this is exactly the
information you are seeking. If anything is unclear, please ask for
clarification before rating the answer,

McLean isn't along the Potomac . . . it's slightly outside the Beltway
and 10 miles from the Potomac River. The area called (and zip-coded
as) "Potomac" is in Maryland, maybe 10-15 miles away.

Thank you, the article I read recently said she was in her new rented
house with nothing in it that belonged to her but it had a beautiful
view of the water....I'm going to double-check if it said "Potomac."
That may help. The interview was in Ms. magazine in May or June 2004.
 Again, thank you.

Just a correction so that you don't do unnecessary research. McLean,
VA post office addresses do include homes along the Potomac River,
primarily (probably exclusively) on Chain Bridge Road. Here is a
sample real estate listing:
