We need exact citations from studies that document patterns that are
similar in nature and in human  created events; e.g. lightning  and the
stock market

There was a theory popularized by a famous book and eventuial movie
about Dinosaurs in a theme park called Chaos theory. One of the things
this theory suggests is that in systems as complex as the stock market
and the atmosphere the patterns look similar becasuse the systems are
of similar complexity and randomness. There are several books on the
theory but it seems to have fallen out of vogue as quickly as the
Dinosaurs.
