8-11-2004 Yes, and she and her attorney successfully defended themselves (she was found not guilty of tax evasion), in US District Court, Western District of Tennessee (Memphis), Case # 03-CR-20111, USA vs. Kuglin, verdict rendered in approximately August 15, 2003. Do a GOOGLE search using the phrase "Vernice Kuglin" (in quotation marks) and you will see many links with information about this case. |

It is unlikely that the IRS will file a civil suit against Vernice Kuglin. The only one they might contemplate filing would be one to reduce her assessment to a judgment. Such suits are rare. Collection of the tax already assessed can be collected without a suit. Assessment of the as yet unassessed taxes does not require a suit. Kuglin could file a petition with the Tax Court for a redetermination of any proposed assessments, but that would be rather silly considering that her attorney has conceded liability on her behalf. |
