Hi zeusdfg-ga,

After extensive research, here is what I've come up with:

Smithfield Foods
http://www.smithfieldfoods.com
Smithfield Foods is the largest hog producer and pork processor in the
world. They distribute their products in all 50 states, Canada and
many other countries. Most of their divisions offer wholesale
distribution to retail stores throughout Illinois. Following are two
of their divisions:

1) The Smithfield Packing Company division of Smithfield Foods is
probably your best bet. They offer a variety of "smoked pork & turkey
parts."
http://www.smithfieldfoods.com/Brands/See/packing.asp

2) The Cumberland Gap division of Smithfield also offers "Hickory
Smoked hocks, shanks, jowls, chunks and bacon."

Some other, smaller alternatives:

Oak Valley Farms
http://www.oakvalleyfarms.com
Offers a wide variety of smoked turkey parts, including wings,
drumsticks, tails, necks and hind quarters. Centrally located in the
mid-west (South Dakota) and distribute their products to schools,
distributors, retail stores and other customers in 24 states and
Canada. Here is the contact information for their Illinois
representative:

DAVID HIGHLAND
HIGHLAND FOOD BROKERS
2155 E. MAPLE
KANKAKEE, IL 60901
PHONE 815-939-0024

Webster City Custom Meats
http://www.webstercitycustommeats.com
Specialize in private-label brands of hickory smoked hams and bacons,
fresh pork sausage and smoked pork parts. They ship all over the
United States to hotels, restaurants and retail outlets.

If you would like more options or something more specific, please let
me know. I wasn't sure if you were interested in private-label, or
would carry any brand. Also do you specifically want a single company
that can provide both turkey and pork, or are you OK dealing with two
separate suppliers. If you provide further information on your
specific needs, I'd be happy to provide further resources.

i would like more options...

a single company that handles pork and turkey is preferable but
separate companies are ok.

i am looking for a high-end custom meat smoke house regarding the
types of smoked meat i mentioned in the original question...one of the
leads you gave me suggested we try "food brokers"

i've tried lake point foods and belmont smoked products and am not satisfied.

i think we're going in the right direction

Here's another possibility which looks especially good since they
offer everything you are looking for and are located on the outskirts
of Chicago in Homewood, Illinois:

Lewis Smoked Meat Company
Smoked pork and turkey products including smoked pork jowls, pork
feet, turkey tails, turkey necks, turkey wings, turkey drumsticks,
pork tails, pork neckbones, pork hocks, salt pork and pork riblets.
Wholesale supplier.

I'll continue looking, just wanted to post this right away rather than
keep you waiting.

lewis smoked meat is out of business - this was my former vendor....

p.s. we are looking for FRESH smoked meat (lake point foods and the
belmont brand are not options for us)

thanks,

still waiting...any other options?

Can you please tell me what was wrong with the first few options that
I posted? As far as I can tell, they met all of your criteria. Is it
just that you want more choices, or that the other options didn't meet
your needs? If so, why?

Also, I have two other options, but need to know a few things:

1) Does it need to be truck delivery? Or is mail delivery OK (as long
as it is fresh, not frozen)?

2) Do you require private label or is a brand name OK?

Thanks,
