I know I can use Microsoft Access to create a pass through query to a
SQL Server database. The problem I have is that I have an Access 2000
database and want to run pass through query's from another machine
also using Microsoft Access 2000.

Creating Linked tables will result in pulling all the data through my
network with doesn't support the need.
