Question ID: 385993
I am looking for the name of a model who appeared in a 1996 ad for
Amarige de Givenchy perfume. In the photo she is wearing a yellow
dress and looking straight at the viewer. There is a sun behind her
in the picture, and she is holding the perfume straight up so that the
viewer can see the product.

Here is a link to a copy of the photo.

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/imagesdeparfums/indexfr.htm?http://perso.wanadoo.fr/imagesdeparfums/Givenchy/Amarige01.htm&2

That is actually one entire link, not two. The second line should be
pasted in without spaces into the browser right after the ? on the
first line.

You'll see on the link that there are two rows of photos. The model
name which I need is the middle picture on the second row. We've got
the photo year, but we still need the name of the model for our
database. Thanks

Hi jf248,

At first I thought it might have been the Brazilian supermodel, "Ana
Hickmann", but in my searches I found no mention of her doing such an
ad. I did however, find many references about "Heidi Klum" doing an ad
for Amarige de Givenchy perfume, and after studying her photos I am
confident this is the model.

"She [Heidi Klum] has appeared in many print advertisements,
including: Bonne Bell (who also use Denise Richards), Finesse, Gerry
Weber, Givenchy's Amarige, I-N-C, and of course the Victoria's Secret
catalogue."
http://www.freelusciouscelebs.com/heidi02.htm

"Appeared in countless print advertisements for Finesse and Givenchy's Amarige."

"ana hickmann" givenchy amarige

"heidi klum" givenchy 1996
"heidi klum" givenchy amarige

In case you have any doubt this is the model, please request a
"Clarication" before rating answer, and I'll look into this again for
you.

Hi Jack, well I also found the Heidi Klum possibility, but I've never
found anything concrete. I see a resemblance, but then again most
models look similar.

Also I have my doubts because like spacegirl-ga said the name of the
model appears over the picture when you mouse over it. However
"année" means year in French so it is not the name of the model.

But Heidi Klum is a very famous model and you would think that link
would have her name there instead of just showing the year. For
instance the picture to the right of the model in the yellow dress is
a photo of Eva Herzigova who is quite famous; however Heidi Klum is
much better known than Eva.

I've done quite a bit of research on the picture and you would just
think that it would show up somewhere on some website with Heidi Klum
as the model (As in other Givenchy ads she has appeared in.)

I'll look into the Klum possibility more, but if you could find
anything concrete that would be great. Thanks for your help. -Jason

Jack,

We're you going to look into this further or no?

Hi Jason,

Yes, I have been looking into this further, but I haven't really found
anything concrete either. However, I am still convinced it's "Heidi
Klum".

The AskMen.com website which appears to be a reliable resource, has a
good deal of information on Heidi. On the biography page, they also
report that she modeled for Givenchy's Amarige.

"She appeared in many print advertisements, including: Bonne Bell
(which Denise Richards also modeled for), Finesse, Gerry Weber,
Givenchy's Amarige, I-N-C, and she hit it big with the Victoria's
Secret campaign."
http://www.askmen.com/women/models/1c_heidi_klum.html
("model for all ages" - last paragraph)

Though there's no specific mention about 'Amarige' on Heidi's website,
Heidi does say:

"I've appeared in many advertising campaigns-print, video and even
live appearances. The clients that I've appeared in campaigns for
include: American Express, *Givenchy*, Finesse, INC, Kathleen Madden,
Katjes, Nike, Otto, Peek&Cloppenburg, Swatch and Victoria's Secret."

(Heidi Private > Today > My Ad Campaigns)

I have emailed Givenchy in the hope they can confirm the identity of
the model, but I haven't received a response as yet.

I'll let you know what I find out.

Thanks Jack for your help. If you do ever hear a response from
Givenchy please let me know. It would be very helpful for our
database. -Jim

Actually, if you try that link in Mozilla Firefox, the names of the
models on the page will appear when you mouse over the photos. The
model with the sun in the background is named Annee.

no année means year in french. It's not her name
