question. There are of course many UK sites that relate specifically
to black news, culture, history, health and other topics but I managed
to find a few more recent ones for you. How ?major? they are is a
matter of opinion I suppose but I selected them based on their content
and usability:

BLACKNET (http://www.blacknet.co.uk/ ) has actually been around since
1996 but it recently launched its new forum project called:

BLACK FORUMS
http://www.blacknet.co.uk/theblackforums/discus/messages/board-topics.html

It provides a place for black people to communicate, to express mutual
concerns, to make friends and to discuss their culture in general.

BLACKSEARCH (http://www.blacksearch.co.uk/ ) was registered in
December of 2000. It is a search engine for issued related to black
culture, news, education, entertainment and a variety of other topics.

BLACKEBONY (http://www.blackebony.co.uk/ ), registered in 2001 and
launched in 2002, is a site that, simply put, celebrates being black.
It contains information about health issues, travel, news, history and
a host of other issues.

BLACKUKONLINE (http://www.blackukonline.com ) was launched in April
2003. You just have to see this one for yourself. It contains links to
black issues so numerous they simply cannot all be mentioned here.

THE VOICE (http://www.voice-online.net/index.php ), the online
version, created in March 2002, advertises itself as ?Britain?s Best
Black Newspaper?. It specializes in news, current events, black
issues, career information and much more.

UK BLACK BUSINESSES ONLINE ( http://www.ukblackbusinessonline.net/ )
established in 2002 is a one-stop directory of black own and operated
businesses in the UK.

LIFESTYLE (http://www.lifestyle.co.uk/ ) is another site that has been
around a long time but in 2004 they?ve added a section related to
black entertainment:

BLACK MANGO (http://www.blackmango.co.uk/ ) is another site that has
so many issues and links that I really cannot do a description
justice. The focus here is strictly on Black issues and they are
numerous. The site is a forum style site that requires one to log on
(free) in order to participate but it appears to be well worth it.

This site appears to have it all. From news and business, to history
and entertainment this site provides a well-rounded source for
learning more about the black experience, black culture and black
society in general. Links to games, music, education, shopping,
careers and even discussion forums are only a few of the offerings on
this site. BLACK PEOPLE ONLINE is truly a treasure chest of
information and activities that could keep a person busy for hours.

Note: I believe you were right on the money when you used this
particular site as your example by which other sites should be
measured. This one appears to be the cream of the crop.
