I don't have the name of his junior high, but I can tell you the name
of Travis Knight's high school. Would that be acceptable?

Yes, Travis Knight did graduate from Alta High in Sandy Utah, BUT he
only went there for his senior year.

He attended 10th and 11th grade at Ramona High School in Ramona, California.

'The same thing can be said for Schaffer, who, until two seasons ago,
was making a name for himself at Ramona High School in Ramona, Calif.
"We did pretty well. We had some good teams, some good players,"
Schaffer said. "One of my top players was 7-foot Travis Knight, who
currently plays for the New York Knicks.
"He played for me as a sophomore and junior, but transferred to
another school for his senior year, which won state the following
year."'

From the Los Angeles Times, August 25, 1991:

"Travis Knight, a 6-foot-10 1/2 center who helped lead Ramona High to
a San Diego Section basketball championship, is moving to Sandy, Utah.
Knight, whose family owns a home and businesses in Utah, said they
will move Sept. 1 for business reasons...
...Knight will be transfering to Alta High in Sandy"

Any luck on the Jr. High?

I'm afraid that, as I initially indicated, I simply don't have the
name of Knight's junior high. That said, the big junior high in
Ramona, California, is Olive Peirce Middle School, so that would seem
to be a possibility.

What about freshman year of highschool? Ramona was just 10th and 11th?

Clarification of Answer by juggler-ga on 16 Aug 2004 20:43 PDT
Hi,

Well, I mentioned "10th and 11th grade" because Coach Schaffer said,
"One of my top players was 7-foot Travis Knight, who currently plays
for the New York Knicks.
He played for me as a sophomore and junior..."

Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that Knight wasn't at Ramona
High for 9th grade. He may have been on a freshmen or junior varsity
squad rather than playing for Coach Schaffer.

sorry, I know he was NOT at Ramona his freshman year... that was why.
He lived in San Diego then (this is all to win a small bet :)

Okay,

I got it.

It was Mt Carmel High.

From the Los Angeles Times 1989:

" Ramona center Travis Knight, a transfer from Mt. Carmel, is only 15,
but is already making an impact. Last week against San Marcos, Knight
blocked eight shots to set a school record."
