I would like to get at least 10 different names for companies that
offers "furnitured apartments or "studios"" in Mubai, India. These can
either be serviced or non-serviced - but these "studios" must be
available for maximum 12.000 Rupees per month excl. electricity, phone
and water when rented for a 3 month period. Kitchen and refrigerator
is not necessary but a phoneline is a plus. Maximum deposit I will pay
is for the 3 months rent plus 1 month extra. |

Can you clarify what city you are seeking information about?
Is it Mumbai, also known as Bombay?
Thanks.

johnterryjr-ga,
I may be able to find you 10 companies that offer furnished apartments
in and around Mumbai, such as Bombay Property:
http://bombayproperty.com/index14.html
HOWEVER...the companies have all resisted my efforts to provide
information on prices. They generally want to have some up-front
details -- such as who their (potential) client is, how long they will
be staying, when they want the apartment, etc -- before offering any
pricing information.
I see that hotels in the area routinely charge 6,000 Rupees per night
(or more) for a room, so it may be difficult to find lodging at the
rate you indicated.
Would a list of real estate agents who could help you search for an
apartment in Mumbai be an acceptable answer to your question, even if
the pricing information was not available?
If so, I will do my best to compile such a list for you. Let me know
your thoughts on the best way to proceed on this.
Thanks.

1. clients name is "jayesh vora". stay is 3-6 months. apartment from
september 5th 2004 (I believe that was the information the people
asked for).
2. A list of real estate agents would be a nice supplement - however,
in that case I would still need to know if they can offer apartment
for the price requested.

Dear johnterryjr-ga,
I stay in suburban Mumbai. The usual costs involved for renting
premises whether for office or home are:
1. Security Deposit: Which is usually 11 times the rent of the
apartment. For example if the rent is 10000 the deposit would be
110000.
2. Rent: This is the rent which is payable in advance in some cases.
3. Brokerage: Estate Agents (also called brokers) usually charge a sum
equal to two months of rent.
The issue in your case is your short tenure of 3 months, since there
are rarely people who lease for short period. Even if they do, you
will have to pay at lease one months brokerage which for your budget
would be 12000 INR.
I shall, nevertheless, talk to the local Estate Agents regarding your
requirements. I want to know what kind of furnishing do you expect in
the apartment (since you mentioned the word "studio", are you
specifically looking for apartments fitted with studio equipment like
lights, backgrounds etc).
Lastly please let me know how much space (in square feets) do you need
for the apartment that you are seeking and the purpose of use (since
apartment owners would like to know the intended use of the apartment)
Warm Regards,
muhammad-ga

I only need 20-30 squaremeters. I only expect a bed, table, a chair
and preferably a telephone line for local calls. The intended use of
the room is to sleep in and stay in (The question is a little funny
because I don't know/can not imagine what else people do in a room).

the word/term "studio" simply means "a 1 room apartment" - it has
nothing to do with a an actual "recording studio" or similar... :-)
