I can only speak about the Uk, but the single biggest unmet need for
patients here, with CCF, is adequate home care in the late stages of
this condition; there is so much emphasis on cancer care at present,
that few resources are being targetted at other chronic terminal
conditions; these patients are unlikely to be kept in hospital, and
the provision of adequate home care is problematic under the NHS.

i would venture a guess that it is inability or unwillingness to take
medications as directed, also diet regulation is very important.
early treatment as opposed to later stage treatment is also an
important factor.
one other is proper diagnosis - congestive heart failure is a disease
state, but it has many causes such as high blood pressure, blocked
arteries, bad heart valves, many others - so development of the
underlying problem would have to be on this list.

The biggest unmet need is a cure!!!!! If I had congestive heart
failure, and assuming I'm pretty incapacitated, I would give a willing
sole $5,000 to assist me in executing the advice of Dr. Sherry A.
Rogers in her book DETOXIFY OR DIE. It is not a simple program to get
rolling but once it is rolling it is a pleasure!! It involves buying
an infra red sauna ($4,000 or less) and using it daily along with the
administration of the supplement program and other guidelines. It is
a book worth reading as infra red sauna can be a cure (what? a cure?
YES) for congestive heart failure. Dr. Rogers will do consults over
the phone with your doctor if needed (about $300.00) I know I would
have to finance this without the help of insurance companies (unless I
was a really good negotiator!). My mother has congestive heart
failure and a pretty penny in the bank but she will not listen to this
advice. Many times how healthy you can get depends on what you can
afford and how smart you are at finding the best answer. --Good
Luck.
