The name of the driving agency is "motorizzazione civile" under the "MINISTERO DEI TRASPORTI E DELLA NAVIGAZIONE". They don't have an official website. Every city has its own office of "motorizzazione" and its own website. Here some links of websites: http://www.comune.firenze.it/soggetti/mctcfi/home_page.htm http://www.provincia.tn.it/motorizzazione/ The italian drivers license is a pink piece of sheet, divided in 3 parts. The first parc contains the pictures, name, etc. The second part the type of drivers license (car, motorcycle, truck, bus, etc). The third parts contains the renewals and stamps that you should put every year (it's a tax). This was the old driver license, and it is still the most common one, since you keep your drivers license forever, you don't change it. The new one instead is still pink, but it looks like the American one, it is a plastic card that fits in the wallet better. To get the italian drivers license: -if you already have one: you have to fill the Mod. TT 2112 form |

Sorry, I haven't finished my answer: - if you already have on: 1 you have to fill the Mod. TT 2112 form 2 bring your license and two paper copy of the license 3 an autenticity declaration (you have to do it at your consulate in Italy) 4 the translation of the license (again at your consulate) 5 bring 2 pictures 6 medical report (it has to be done from an authorized doctor) 7 bring your passport 8 "dichiarazione sostitutiva" of notary public act that states the date of your first residency in Italy 9 if you are not an European community citizen you also need the "permesso di soggiorno" that you get at the police station (it's like a visa that allow you to reside and work) Then you have to pay the fees that are 5,16 euros and 22,00 euros. -If you don't have a license: 1 you must have the Italian residency or have the "permesso di soggiorno" 2 must be 18 years old 3 have a medical report (it has to be done from an authorized doctor) 4 have a theoric exam 5 have a "behind the wheels test" |
