Question ID: 386776
I need to find a good orthopedist specialized in asymmetric shortening
of the lower extremities that is part of the Cygna PPO network and
located in Chicago's Northwest Suburbs (Schaumburg) to review my 32yr
old wife's case. Spanish speaking is a plus.

The current sequela is asymmetry, there is a muscular hypotrophy on
the side of the thigh. This was noticed about 15 yrs ago but was not
treated.

We think the cause is a shortening in one leg. This pre-diagnosis was
given by a traumatologist non-specialized in shortenings, and he was
located in another city so follow-up is not practical. Some X-ray
images were already taken (one includes waist, hip, both legs and the
ankles).

The proposed prescription could be a corrective insole or orthotic footwear.

We want to avoid potential medium- and long- term damage to other bone
structures due to misbalanced forces: sacrum, iliac, or excesive wear
on the hip (more specifically: the femur head in the pelvis cavity).

=> We need a local qualified specialist to review the case and give
the right prescription.

Hi there -
I thought I recognized this! I will contact the physician I located
in Schaumburg to see if he is a specialist in this area or can
recommend someone who is. Will get back to you.

Hey there -

Unfortunately, though I emailed the orthopedists' office back on
August 12th, they have yet to email me back. I'd be happy to give you
their contact information if you'd like to get in touch with them
yourself. Sometimes offices don't like to deal with a third party.
Let me know if you want that info as an answer - or, since it doesn't
fully answer your question, I would be willing to give it to you as a
comment. Whatever you think is fair.

Hi Lachan,

As I mentioned, I haven't heard back from the orthopedic clinic in
Schaumburg that I identified. Here's their contact info, and you can
give them a call to see if they'll fit your needs. Maybe they'll be
more willing to talk to an actual patient than to a third party.

If you'd accept this as an answer please let me know and I'll submit
it as such (you may need to resubmit the question, since this one
expires today). Otherwise, I wish you the best of luck!
