Hi funkt,

Here you go - you are lucky that you signed up with yahoo.co.uk
because free access to the POP3 service on yahoo.com was discontinued.

Instructions for configuring your outlook account:
- To add a new email account to your existing profile...
- Important: The Yahoo! Mail SMTP server now requires authentication.
To turn this setting on, follow these steps...
- To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail server...

Hopefully you'll soon be downloading your Yahoo mail. If you have any
questions, please post a clarification request before closing/rating
my answer and I'll be happy to reply.

Thank you,
hummer

Possibly wrong user id or email password keyed in. Make sure that
under the account name / user name / user id, user keyed in the full
email address. Sometimes problems may lie because check on 'save email
password' in the account configuration. User can uncheck that option
and key in the password manually. Also, make sure that the email
account is still active.
The mail process has hung. Close your program and wait for 15-20 min
before trying again.

It's still possible to check Yahoo.com mail in Outlook using YahooPOPs.
Go to this website, download the installer and follow the instructions
and you're in business!

The usual process to send/recieve mail through a mail client (using OE6) follows:

- Open Outlook Express -> go to TOOLS -> Accounts -> Add-> Mail.

Then a dialog box will appear asking for a display name(the name that
recievers of your mail will see),Enter a name -> click
next.

Then the dialog box will ask for your email address, (e.g:
me@domain.com)Enter the email address -> click
next.

Then the dialog box will appear with three fields, the first one is a
dropdown that read "POP3" ignore it, the second is the incoming server
-> enter the address; the third is the outgoing server address ->
enter the address -> click next.

Then the dialog box will appear with two final fields, the first your
account ID (which is the username before @domain.com) enter the
account ID, The second field is your account password -> enter you
password -> click next.

The final part will congratulate you -> the finish button and all
should be well. Just check that you can send and recieve emails by
sending one to yourself or a friend.
