Prevention/Control: There is no known cure, but honey fungus tends to
attack stressed plants, especially woody plants, so keep plants
healthy by caring for them. Dig up and burn infected plants, removing
as much of the roots as possible. If you replant, choose less
susceptible plants and change the soil before planting.

Honey fungus fruiting bodies are believed to be non-poisonous, though
not particularly palatable. But since there is no cure apart from
trying to keep your plants unstressed, you can at least get your own
back by eating them!

There are no chemical cures for honey fungus. Armillatox can be used
to help sterilise the soil and keep any as yet uninfected plants
healthy. Any infected plants should be dug up with as much of the root
system as possible. The best thing to do is to plant resistant plants.
Trees: yew, beech, box, oaks, cercis, catalpa. Shrubs: ceratostigma,
choisya, cotinus, photinia, pieris, pittosporum, sarcococca, eleagnus,
kerria, hebe, phlomis. Climbers: actinidia, abutilon, chaenomeles,
clematis, passiflora
