I plan to be starting a sole proprietership type of business in a few months so I can stop working at Home Depot forever. Anyways, I need some ideas for a business name. I would prefer 20 to 30 or more possible name ideas. These can be things right off the top of your head, it dosen't really require any research. I am not a very artistic or creative person, so this part of starting my business is about the only thing I am having trouble with. I will breifly tell you what I will be doing in my business. I plan to offer an in home service for the entire metro area I live in (like 2 million people) doing repairs/troubleshooting, and upgrades/installations, on computer hardware and software of all types (for PC's). I also plan to offer support and installation services for all types of home networks. I do plan to keep an inventory of computer hardware available for the customers I do work for if they don't have their own already. So this will be a very complete service for anything relating to computers. I do plan to specialize in support for Windows and PC's, not so much Mac's. I plan to do mostly residental/home work first and then mabye later on commercial/business work. I would prefer one word business names if possible (which could be a long work like a combination of two words for example) and two word names would be ok. Three word names would be a possibility but three words is kind of pushing it I think shorter names are easier to use. Any ideas would be very much appreciated, thanks! |

There are many domain name generators out there that you can use for free. All you need to do is submit keywords, and the generator will spit out a whole bunch of names. They may not be exactly right, but they might be close enough to spark an idea. Good luck! |

Hi, If you're dealing with home users then it may be an idea to stick to a no frills name, this gives you company definition through the name, so people will know what you do and not feel intimidated by some highly complicated technical image. Something like : PC Home Support < obviously not that thought!! I wouldn't get hung up on not using a 3 word name; if the name familiarises people with the service. The problem could be that they won't remember the name properly, but then unless you go for the very obvious such as the above, they always will. The Support Store Computer Problems Crash Systems Crash Networks PC Crisis PC Callout PC Anything IT Troubleshooting Home Networks Home Support Home Systems Computer Crisis Computer Repair Co (could almost add 'Co' to all of them, possible prefixed with 'The') PC Helpdesk [anything] Computers [anything] Support Not sure I'd use IT in the name though, I'm not sure how familiar people are with it where you are, but where I am, it is more of a business term. You could go for the obscure, non related name: [anything that comes to mind] Synergic Pictoris Symion ... I think I'm comming up with ones that exist... it takes a quiet moment to come up with them! Hope this gives you a few ideas. Good luck with it! Don't worry too much about a name, its what is behind it that matters infinately more. Tom |

Sometimes it helpfull to see lists of what others have selected. You might want to try, http://www.totalwebconcepts.com/dmainc.php which will get your inside a web site that offers over 5,000 domains which are priced and available for immediate purchase using PayPal. Some of the names they had available today are: PrecisionComputerConsultants.com SuperComputerMan.com PersonalComputerStuff.com ComputersAndStuff.com ComputerTesting.net BuyACustomPC.com On their search feature you might try "repair" "computer" "handy" Good Luck, Tom |
