Yes ...

How to walk along narrow ledges;

How to catch mice without mechanical aids;

How to see in the dark;

How to purr;

How to climb walls without any footholds;

How to flaunt their tail;

How many more things do you want?

Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me
everyday. Now I don't see you anymore. I am lonesome here and it is
difficult for me to remember how much you love me."

And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that will
be with you forever, and who will be a reflection of my love for you,
so that you will know I love you, even when you cannot see me.
Regardless of how selfish and childish and how unlovable you may be,
this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I
do, in spite of yourself."

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam. And it was a
good animal. And God was pleased. And the new animal was pleased to be
with Adam and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, "But Lord, I have
already named all of the animals in the Kingdom and all the good names
are already taken and I cannot think of a name for this new animal."
And God said, "No problem. Because I have created this new animal to
be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of
my own name, and you will call him dog."

And dog lived with Adam and was a companion to him and loved him. And
Adam was comforted. And God was pleased. And dog was content and
wagged his tail.

After a while, it came to pass that Adam's guardian angel came to the
Lord and said, "Lord, Adam has become filled with pride. He struts and
preens and he believes he is worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed
taught him that he is loved, but no one has taught him humility." And
the Lord said, "No problem! I will create for him a companion who will
be with him forever and who will see him as he is. The companion will
remind him of his limitations, so he will know that he is not worthy
of adoration."

And God created cat to be a companion to Adam. And cat would not obey
Adam. And when Adam gazed into cat's eyes, he was reminded that he was
not the supreme being. And Adam learned humility. And God was pleased.
And Adam was greatly improved. And cat did not care one way or
another.

Hello again  dtnl42-ga!

Here is some interesting information about cats.

?Cats can sense hurricanes and may hide under the bed or elsewhere, so
keep them nearby to save time if you need to evacuate.?
http://petplace.netscape.com/articles/artShow.asp?artID=5088

?Cats can sense changes in the weather. There have been reports of
cats actually taking their young out of the paths of tornadoes. It has
also been documented all over the world that cats have predicted
earthquakes and volcanoes by behaving strangely before the incident
would occur. ?

"For centuries, the Chinese have looked to cats for early warning of
earthquakes. Scientists monitoring earth tremors in California claim
cats can sense them before the most delicate of instruments."

?I have heard many times that animals are extra sensitive to spirits
and can see things that we can't. During my husband's hospice care at
home, our cat would lay right next to him on the bed and never wanted
to leave him. After Tim passed, our cat wouldn't lay on the bed any
longer.? http://www.ywbb.org/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=000649

?A cat's sense of smell is infinitely more sensitive than our own.
Cats can sense some 200 million odors and there is simply no comparing
their sensory world to our own?.

?What do cats know that humans don't? "When it's time to get out,"
explains a character in What Cats Know, a Lisa Dillman play making its
West Coast premiere at Transparent Theater. The rather depressing if
often witty story features four thirtysomethings who don't know when
to get out -- of friendships, love relationships, and the hurtful
games that arise between unhappy people.?
