I am searching for a US Army panoramic photogragh taken at Cat Lai
Vietnam in either May or June 1967. It is of the Long Range
Reconnaisance Patrol attached to D Troop 17th Cavalry 199th Light
Infantry Brigade (sep). The picture is black and white and is of 37
or 39 men in two ranks-one staning and the other kneeling in front.
All are wearing army jungle fatigues and berets with the 17th Cav
flash on it. The flash is shield shaped devise split diagonally with
lighter color above and right and darker color below and left. One
man is holding the D Troop guidon, a pennant shaped flag split light
above and dark below with D above 17 on it.
I was told that one photographer from Texas named Goldman or
Goldstien took all of the panoramic photographs in that era including
the ones in Vietnam. This photo may have been taken at the behest of
Brigadere General Freund who was commander of the Brigade at that
time. some of his records may exist at College Park Maryland or at
the US Army War College In Pennsylvania. |
