Hi again j_philipp-ga,

I'm glad you're enjoying this golden oldie! I've managed to configure
the keys for Batman using Spectaculator and the first batman tape
image on:

http://tzxvault.retrogames.com/b.htm

You can reproduce this as follows:

- Load the batman.tzx file in Spectaculator.
- On the first menu screen, choose "Kempston Joystick".
- In the next menu, use the arrow keys to scroll to the option "Select
the keys" and press enter.
- Now, for every action (left, right, up, down, jump, carry and
pause): select the action by pressing enter and then press the key you
want to assign to it. It's best not to assign the arrow keys as this
seems to give trouble, however any letter key should do. Confirm the
assignment by pressing enter again (the newly assigned key should
appear next to the action).
- When all keys are assigned, press 'shift' to go back to the main menu.

At this point it's a good idea to save the state to a file, such that
you don't need to re-set these keys every time you start the game.
From the 'file' menu of Spectaculator select 'save as' to save the
current state to a file. Next time load the created "szx" file to
start the game with the new configuration.

If you're having trouble setting the keys, let me know which keys you
want to assign to the actions and I'll create the "szx" file for you
and make it available for download.

By the way, the same saving mechanism can be used to save the game
anywhere and continue from exactly that point.

Hope this helps,

Sincerely,

rhansenne-ga.

Hi,

I found a way to play the game with the arrow keys after all :).

- Load the batman.tzx file in Spectaculator (original settings).
- On the first menu screen, choose "Kempston Joystick".
- Now, go to the "Tools" menu of spectaculator and choose "options".
- Select the tab "Keyboard". Under "Keyboard joystick options", select
"Kempston Joystick" and press OK.
- You can now use your arrow keys, with the 'tab' or 'right alt key'
as the joystick's fire button (can be re-mapped as before).

Hope this works!

Best regards,

rhansenne-ga.

I chose some other keys which do work OK then, thanks for trying
anyway. The "File-Save" method is a good tip.
